E-Scooter with Road Approval: Legal Riding in Switzerland
Not every e-scooter is allowed on the road in Switzerland. Approved models are those up to 20 km/h, classified as light motorbikes, and meeting the requirements for lights, brakes, and reflectors. Both TWHEELS e-scooters are road-approved in Switzerland, so you can ride legally on bike paths and roads.
The Rules in Brief (As of July 2026)
You can ride from age 14 with a category M driving license, and from 16 without a license. The bike rules apply: bike paths and roads are allowed, sidewalks are not. No license plate is required, and there is no helmet obligation, but wearing a helmet is strongly recommended. Since the revision in July 2025, e-scooters without a seat must be ridden alone and standing.

The E-Scooter Lite (500 W, up to 45 km range) is the compact choice for city routes, while the E-Scooter Pro (500 W, up to 65 km) also handles longer commutes.
