How do I properly care for the product?

To keep your tunnel tent waterproof for many seasons, one thing matters most: store it dry.

  • Always pack it away dry: Let the tent and poles dry completely before storing them. If stored damp, mould can develop and permanently damage the fabric and coating.
  • Clean it gently: use only clean water and a soft brush or cloth. Do not use harsh cleaners or a washing machine, as they can damage the waterproof coating.
  • Reproof it when necessary: If water no longer beads up but forms a film instead, treat the tent with a waterproofing spray for polyester. Clean and dry the tent first, spray evenly, and let it dry for several hours.
  • Keep the zippers clean: Tap or brush sand and dust out of the zippers so they run smoothly and do not tear.
  • Handle the fibreglass poles with care: Store the sections bundled in the carry bag to prevent splintering. When pitching the tent, fit the segments together rather than pulling them through individually; this protects the elastic cord inside.
  • Check the pegs and seams: Give them a quick inspection before every trip, and straighten or replace bent pegs.
