Electric scooters up to a speed of 20 km/h can be driven without a driver's license and without license plates. No helmet obligation.
Electric scooters from a speed of 25 km/h require a moped driver's license M, a license plate is mandatory. From here on, helmets are compulsory.
Electric scooters with a speed of 45 km/h or more require a class A1 driver's license, which can be applied for from the age of 15.
